In practice, a Shift Supervisor is the person in charge of managing a specific shift. They have the authority to oversee and direct security personnel within their shift, but they still operate under the supervision of the Security Team Leader. In simple terms, a Shift Supervisor functions similarly to a department manager, managing their team but not overseeing other departments.

The Security Team Leader, on the other hand, holds the highest level of responsibility at the site. They are responsible for managing both the quantity and quality of security personnel, as well as coordinating operations in accordance with the company’s management and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

+ Training shift supervisors and security personnel, especially new staff, to ensure they understand operational procedures, company regulations, and site-specific requirements.

+ Participating in recruitment and personnel arrangement to ensure sufficient staffing for effective site security operations.

+ Conducting regular meetings with building management representatives to review security situations, evaluate performance, and address any issues promptly.

+ Managing parking operations, including tracking vehicle numbers, ticketing, and revenue reporting to the building management.

+ Supervising shift operations, ensuring discipline and performance standards are maintained. When absent, the Team Leader delegates authority to the Shift Supervisor to handle operational matters.

+ Preparing daily security reports according to company standards and submitting them to clients.

+ Training new personnel, scheduling shifts through company systems, and coordinating with HR to ensure staff welfare and compliance with company policies.

+ Conducting daily shift handovers, inspecting personnel appearance and performance, and briefing upcoming tasks at 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

+ Organizing monthly training sessions and team meetings, with documented reports submitted to the company.
